Umoja Live At Jazz Tonic Video from 10.13.10

This was the first real Jazz Quartet to play Jazz Tonic thus far and Umoja blew us all away! It was a fantastic performance featuring the trumpet prowess of Josh Koslow and some poetry by Jazz Poet and resident Mayor of Jazz Tonic AK Toney.

Plan 9 was the guest at Jazz Tonic on the last Wednesday of September where he brought his unique flavor of spaced out sound to the Jazzy mix for the night. He played a great set and fit right in with the Jazz Tonic vibe, dipping in and out of his style of left field sounds and abstract Jazz throughout!

His entire 80 minute set was recorded and is here for you to download and enjoy for free! The following is a little excerpt from his set taken from the live webcast on Astronaut Disco.

Jazz Tonic Video's from 7/21/10

 

 

This was our first night of Jazz Tonic at The Broadway Bar in downtown LA. On this night it was just DJ A-Ski and Mixmaster Massey behind the turntables, crafting the Jazz vibes for the first time! Jazz Poet AK Toney shared some words and at the end of it all the amazing MC Prefyx got on the mic blew minds! It was a fantastic start!
